Blenheim Sudios

Introduction

We completed this contract in April 2014 the development consisted of the change of use of the main building, from Factory use to residential to create 9 high specification loft style self-contained units together with extensive external alterations. Landscaping and provision of refuse and cycle storage enclosures. The building was converted to comply with all current building control regulations and approval.

Our involvement

Our involvement in this project was on a design and build contract we were involved since the pre-construction phase where we acted as the client's advisors working closely with and co-ordinating the architects and engineers to help put together all the pre-construction information through to completion.

Construction overview

The extensive external alterations include an additional story being constructed of the complete building including new windows and door position’s to match the existing architecture. The existing steel framed and asbestos covered roof was demolished and replaced with a new steel framed, timber infilled slated roof with new roof terraces all to match the architecture of the surrounding areas. There was also a new drainage system and services installed. It was important to manage construction activities throughout this project as there were tenants living and working below.
